To help mark the eightieth birthday of one of the world’s most influential artists, the TU Institute for Bob Dylan Studies will host a virtual symposium from May 22-24, 2021. This event will look back at Dylan’s vast body of work and ahead to the ways in which it will continue to shape the way we think about music, culture, art, ethics, activism, and more.
The global pandemic has required us to think creatively about how best to design such an event, though it also opens the opportunity for us to welcome speakers and participants from around the world. We will announce the initial program in February 2021, which will be built around interactive virtual sessions. These will be spaced throughout the day and diverse in topic as well as format in order to retain the sense of community that emerged from the World of Bob Dylan conference in 2019.
Keep an eye on the Institute’s website and Facebook page for additional details about registration, events, and more. In the meantime, we wish you good health for the new year!
