Welcome Emily Every, Administrative Assistant

Please join us in welcoming Emily Every to the Oklahoma Center for Humanities and Bob Dylan Institute team! She will be serving as the department’s Administrative Assistant, meaning she’ll be helping behind the scenes with event organization, managing administrative concerns, and serving as a public face for OCH-Dylan.

As Administrative Assistant, Emily hopes to help the department highlight the humanities in Tulsa through OCH. On the Dylan Institute side of things, she wants to see the program continue to grow in the coming years, especially as Tulsa blossoms as a destination for music lovers. Emily grew up on folk music. Consequently, she has been following the growth of Bob Dylan as a cultural figure in Tulsa since moving to Oklahoma from North Carolina in 2017. (Though, she admits, hers was more a Johnny Cash than Dylan household.)

Emily graduated from TU’s Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences in May with degrees in English, environmental policy, and economics. In her time as an undergraduate at TU, Emily managed the student paper the Collegian, helped run the undergraduate art journal Stylus, and studied in the Global Scholars and Honors programs.

After spending the past summer working as a newsroom staff intern at The Muskogee Daily Phoenix and The Claremore Daily Progress, Emily’s excited to use her writing and journalistic skills in her new role over at OCH-Dylan. Please keep an eye on your inbox for some beautifully worded upcoming event emails from the department.

Her office is stationed on the main floor of Tyrrell Hall. Feel free to stop and chat with her about upcoming OCH-Dylan events, favorite new wave bands, or least favorite roads to drive on in Tulsa. The door is open, walk-ins welcome.
