The Institute for Bob Dylan Studies is happy to announce Regina Weinreich as a keynote speaker for Dylan & the Beats.
Regina Weinreich is the director/co-producer of the award-winning documentary Paul Bowles: The Complete Outsider, and she co-wrote the film The Beat Generation: An American Dream. She also wrote Kerouac’s Spontaneous Poetics and edited and compiled Kerouac’s Book of Haikus. A leading scholar of the Beat Generation, Weinreich also wrote about Beat aesthetics in her chapter in The Cambridge Companion to the Beats.
Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Village Voice, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Talk Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, American Book Review, Hamptons Magazine, The Forward, The East Hampton Star, among others.
Weinreich is a Professor in Humanities & Sciences at The School of Visual Arts in New York. Her keynote speech is titled “Orgasms Against the Empire: Thoughts on Outlaw Culture.”
