Keynote Announcement: David Hajdu

TU’s Institute for Bob Dylan Studies is happy to announce that David Hajdu will be a keynote speaker at Dylan and the Beats.

In 2015, Hajdu became the music critic for The Nation. Before then, he was the music critic for The New Republic for over a decade. Hajdu is also a professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and in 2021, President Biden selected him as a member of the National Council on Humanities.

He is the author of six books of nonfiction, including Positively 4th Street: The Lives and Times of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Mimi Baez Farina and Richard Farina, as well as the novel Adrianne Geffel. His Positively 4th Street was named “one of the best books about music in America” by The Washington Post, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and winner of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for Music Writing.
